Worked for the sole practitioner of the firm, notably summarising and digitalising over 35 legal case files in mental health law within 3 weeks. As a result of the high-quality and quick delivery of work I produced, I now work for the firm part-time remotely, also managing the firm’s client billing system and conducting client calls independently.

This has developed my organisational skills, time management and attention to detail as I am given the responsibility to manage my own load of case files alongside completing my Master’s studies.

Sat in the firm’s Corporate and Litigation departments, completing a variety of tasks for fee earners including assisting in the due diligence process for a merger involving a start-up company, amending EU product liability legislation to become UK compliant post-Brexit, researching product liability claims for consumers in a class action, and researched international LGBT rights legislation in the Middle East for a pro-bono client.

Took part in a mock negotiation and summary judgment hearing, achieving favourable outcomes for my team’s client in both scenarios.

Completed written tasks for the Corporate, Employment and Finance departments, notably researching the differences between fixed and floating charges, consent requirements for security agents over a fictitious sale of assets, and the risks associated with a potential acquisition of a limited company.

Prepared and hosted 3 Q&A sessions with partners and associates from the firm’s Corporate, Equity Derivates and Tax practice areas.

Arranged networking calls with over 15 trainees, associates and partners within the vacation scheme week.

I was selected to attend the Open Day at the firm’s London Office, engaging in all the interactive Q&A sessions with the office’s managing partner, marketing team, the innovation team and graduate recruitment.

I am currently organising career events run by the University of Law on my campus, including the University-wide Law Fair attended by over 2000 students.

Worked on live cases covering trademark registration, breach of confidentiality, registered designs and copyright.

Drafted witness statements, took part in online webinars on recent copyright case law development and took notes during client calls.

This highlighted the importance of keeping up to date with legal developments as well as keeping an interest in the client’s industry to ensure solicitors can give the best advice.

I sat in on the corporate, Dispute resolution and property teams. I researched potential litigation cases, worked on a high profile case regarding tax claims as well as attending the firm's lecture on Freezing Orders and a webinar on Part 36 Offers run by Lexis Nexis.

Undertook an 8-week work placement at an employment law-niche firm, helping in drafting cases, writing legal update articles for the firm’s website and calculating gender pay claims.

I shadowed lawyer's in 5 of the firm's legal departments; Corporate, Commercial Property, Dispute Management, Employment and Personal Injury.

Volunteered as a trained advisor in Employment and Disability law personally providing legal advice, drafting and proofreading legal documents for clients.

Sat in on lawyer’s meetings, proofread legal documents and handled client’s tasks as well as office duties.

Alongside my studies, I taught Year 9 ICT once a week at a small local Secondary School in Leeds. This involved me teaching myself the GCSE syllabus in order to create a Year 9 pre-GCSE curriculum to deliver to the students and provide them with the necessary skills to begin the GCSE course with.

Worked part-time in the Digital Learning department throughout my second year at University, developing my faculty’s (the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences) digital learning systems and undertaking research. I also took part in a training day on Copyright Law.

Worked part-time in the Mountain Sports team throughout all my major Secondary School exams and holiday seasons, learning how to operate within a large team and offer excellent customer service.
